1st violin: Jon Gjesme - Norway
Has been a soloist with most of the norwegian orchestras and some of the leading orchestras in the Nordic countries and USA.
In his studies he got a lot of inspiration from playing for great musicians like Isaac Stern, Sandor Vegh and Norbert Brainin.
He has 20 years of experience as a concertmaster in The Royal Danish Orchestra, The Oslo Philharmonic and presently in Copenhagen Phil. He has been leading projects with several chamber orchestras and lately also conducted orchestras like Copenhagen Phil, Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra and Berlin Sinfonietta.

2nd violin: Christine Enevold - Denmark
Leader of the 2. violin group in The Danish Sinfonietta.
She has through her whole career been very active on the danish chamber music scene. She has in soloist, chamber music and chamber orchestra context toured Europe and USA.
In addition, Christine teaches talented kids.
Viola: Ettore Causa, Italy
Ettore is the Professor of Viola at Yale University, USA
He is also an active soloist and chamber musician in Europe and USA.
He won in 2000 both the Schidlof prize and The Barbirolli prize for ”the most beautiful sound” in the prestigious Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition in England.
Cello: Joel Laakso, Finland
Joel is the 1.principal cellist of The Royal Danish Orchestra. As an active musician and a former cellist of the New Helsinki Quartet, Joel has performed in most of the European countries, USA, South America, Asia and Australia. As a soloist he has played f.ex with The Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and The Royal Danish Orchestra.
In 2015-17 Joel was the artistic director of the Riihimäki Summer Concerts in Finland.
After some refreshing break from quartet playing Joel is really happy to join the Poseidon quartet for their upcoming projects.
